Do you accept insurance?
I do not bill insurance. Payment is made upfront via credit/debit card or PayPal (upon request). If your insurance company provides out of network reimbursement, I am happy to provide the necessary documents. Among the benefits of private pay are no DSM diagnosis required for treatment, flexibility with length of sessions and duration of services, and added confidentiality.
How does couples therapy or marriage counseling help?
Depending on the challenges your relationship faces, I help you explore current stressors and interrupt negative conflict cycles. By exploring relevant history, building upon strengths within the relationship, and learning new skills, we work to increase connection and strengthen your relationship.
How often do we meet?
Most commonly, I meet with couples for 90 minutes weekly to start, and then biweekly ongoing. Longer or more frequent sessions are available if needed.
Do you give us things to do between sessions?
While I individualize services based on each relationship's unique circumstance, I will often provide resources, reading suggestions, and skills to implement to support therapeutic growth.
What is your knowledge and experience?
I have a Master's degree in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon. I have completed and engage in ongoing specialized training in couples and sex therapy taught by Esther Perel and Terry Real.
What issues do you specialize in working with?
I specialize in working with couples and partners facing a variety of issues including ongoing conflict, infidelity and betrayal, sexual issues, relationship agreements and issues around monogamy/non-monogamy.
What are your rates?
I charge $150 per 90 minutes for couples/relationship therapy and marriage counseling.
I charge $85 per hour for individual therapy.
