FAQ

How do we get started?

You are welcome to schedule a free consultation with me to ask any questions and to see if we'd be a good fit. Feel free to email me for therapy inquiries.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not bill insurance. Payment is made upfront via credit/debit card. If your insurance company provides out of network reimbursement, I am happy to provide the necessary documents. Among the benefits of private pay are no DSM diagnosis required for treatment, flexibility with length of sessions & duration of services, and added confidentiality.

How does couples therapy or marriage counseling help?

Depending on the challenges your relationship faces, I help you explore current stressors and interrupt negative conflict cycles. By exploring relevant history, building upon strengths within the relationship, and learning new skills, we work to increase connection and strengthen your relationship.

How often do we meet?

Most commonly, I meet with individuals once weekly for 60 minutes and couples biweekly for 90 minutes. I work collaboratively with clients to determine what best suits your needs.

Do you offer things to do between sessions?

While I individualize services based on each individual or relationship's unique circumstance, I will often provide resources, reading suggestions, and skills to implement to support therapeutic growth.

What is your knowledge and experience?

I have a Master's degree in Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon. I have completed and engage in ongoing specialized training in trauma healing, couples therapy, and sex therapy.

My most vital experience comes from my own life- navigating my relationship/s with myself and others.

What issues do you specialize in working with?

I specialize in working with individuals, couples and partners facing a variety of issues including ongoing conflict, infidelity and betrayal, sexual issues, trauma healing, relationship disconnect, and struggles with emotional intimacy.

What if my partner won't come to therapy?

Sometimes one partner is ready to work on the relationship in therapy and the other isn't. In these circumstances, individual therapy can still be very useful and may lead to improvements, not only individually, but in the relationship too.
